These are a few people I would like to recognize and thank for strengthening my walk.
Heather
Heather is one of my small groups leaders at my youth group. She is one of those people that always wears a smile and can brighten any mood. Through my struggles she's had the perfect words of advice for me. Heather has an angelic voice that she leads youth group worship with. I look up to her and hope to be as influential to people as she is someday.
My Mom
My mom is my language and history teacher this year. Since I go to a private school she is allowed to express her faith. I love when we're studying different religions she can compare it to Christianity. She's my MOM. She is the best mother I could ever ask for. My mom always has a shoulder to cry on and comforting arms to wrap around me.
Chailee
Chailee is another of my small group leaders. Chailee is a hyper adult, but can be serious when solemnity is needed. Chailee is also apart of the worship team and has amazing singing ability. She's very responsible and the kind of person everybody needs in their life. I look up to her like a sister.
James
James is my youth pastor at church. When he teaches the lesson, he gets his point across in a humorous, but serious, way. He's put himself in my life as a fatherly figure. I could never thank him enough for his words of advice that he has given to me.
Mrs. Swanson
Mrs. Swanson is my Bible teacher. Although we move through the stories and history of the Bible, she also includes how we should have God in our lives emotionally. Once a week she does prayer requests. These really help me and other students as we get involved in each other's lives. She's put up my my tears plenty of times and has pushed me through the toughest of situations.
Emily Berger
Emily is my inspiration. She's the lead singer of a band called Reveal. She is very talented and a devoted Christian. Reveal has played at Hume three times that I've attended Hume. Every time I looked forward to see her beautiful smile that lights up my day. Emily prayed for me one night at camp. In that moment, her words made me realize God will always be there. She really had God speaking through her.
Chris Nicely
Chris was a speaker at Hume Lake one year. He really opened my eyes to the world and changed my life. He connected Exodus with life skills today. I couldn't thank him enough for this. As he told funny stories, he made the point to a sincere end. He taught me that Jesus didn't die on the cross so we could have one chance, but many.
Meems
Meems is my step-grandmother. She is a gentle, kind lady. She always tries to find a solution to the problem and is very generous. Meems loves little children and spoiling them. She grew up always going church and clings to the Lord always. She's a proud cancer survivor and mother of 5 with countless grandchildren.
Pastor Charlie
Charlie is the most down-to-Earth youth pastor. He has helped me through many of his sermons! Charlie has even helped me through my first heartbreak. I thank God every day for the love and kindness shown to me through Charlie!
